December Daily 2017 vol. 1

Hi, friends! How are you? ๐Ÿ’›

I hope you’re doing well and having a good week! I cannot believe that it’s almost November. Time is flying. We’re quickly approaching December, which means it’s almost time for my very favorite scrapbooking project: December Daily!

This year, I finally finished my 2017 December Daily album and I’m making lots of progress on my 2018 album right now โ€” I’m busting my booty to get both my 2018 and 2019 albums done by December (thanks to the super motivating #donebydecember challenge posted on Instagram by the amazing members of Ali Edwards‘ creative team!).

I’m so excited to share my 2017 album with you over a few posts. Here’s the beginning of my 2017 December Daily album:

For 2017, I used an off-white linen album from Ali Edwards โ€” I think it was from 2014 or 2015, maybe? I’m pretty sure that I got in on clearance in the summer of 2017. I used some white number stickers for the “2017” on the sparkly polka dot paper by Pebbles. The little resin tree is from Crate Paper’s Merry Days collection โ€” it was attached to a paper clip, but I pulled it off and then attached it to the album’s spine with red line tape (which seems to be working pretty well). I used many elements (papers, cards, and embellishments) from Ali’s 2017 December Daily kit as well as lots of papers from Pebbles’ Cozy and Bright collection.

I used a variety of numbers this year, as the numbers in my scrapbooking stash had exponentially grown! Many of the cork ones (large and small) are from Ali Edwards (story kits, Week in the Life products, and 2016’s December Daily kit). The large gold cardstock numbers are from My Mind’s Eye โ€” I found them a while ago at my local Tuesday Morning (which, sadly, went out of business earlier this year ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ).

I used some little holiday themed paper clips from Crate Paper’s Fa La La collection, some party bags from Crate Paper’s Snow and Cocoa collection, and the gold acrylic “magic” is from an old Studio Calico Documenter kit (December 2017 I believe…?). It’s so fun and fit perfectly in this album.

I made the Secret Santa envelope with my We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board with some Pebbles Cozy and Bright paper. The gold glitter Thickers are from American Crafts.

2017 was the first year I started dedicating one day of the month for each of my kids. In 2017, our youngest was 9 years old, so I made a spread with a letter to them โ€” and plan to continue that into every future December Daily album. It’s so much fun to see how much they grow each year and I love looking back at what I wrote to them at that specific moment in time.

I hope this post leaves you encouraged, if you also have past December Daily albums to finish. Or, if this is your first year: make it work for you! Do whatever brings you joy! Go crazy or keep it simple (or, like me, do both โ€” ha!). It’s such an incredible project and I just love it so, so much.
