December Daily 2018 vol. 1

Hi, friends! Happy Friday! ๐Ÿ’›

I don’t know if, “Happy Friday!” means anything to anyone nowadays โ€” but I still work a regular work week, so to me it means, “hallelujah! It’s the weekend!” ๐Ÿ˜Š

You guys. We’re finally in November. Time is flying! Weโ€™re quickly approaching December, which means itโ€™s almost time for my very favorite scrapbooking project:ย December Daily!

I’ve been making a lot of progress in my 2018 album and I cannot wait to show you how cute it’s looking! Here’s the beginning of my 2018 December Daily album:

For my 2018 December Daily album, I used a red chipboard 6×8 album from Ali Edwards and her 2018 main kit as well. I used a bunch of patterned papers and embellishments from Crate Paper’s Merry Days collection as well. I used gold number stickers to make the “2018” on the spine and a gold acrylic star from Freckled Fawn.

For my opening/title page, I used a transparency from Ali Edwards, an enlarged photo of our Christmas tree, gold number stickers, a felt star, and a chipboard piece from the main kit. The “merry” tab is from this tab sticker set that’s still available in her shop.

For day 2, I used another transparency from Ali along with one of her 6×8 papers from the main kit and a large cork “2” from a past Week in the Life kit. I used puffy hearts from the main kit on the following pages to compliment the simple journaling.

For day 4, I used patterned papers from Crate Paper’s Merry Days collection along with elements from the main kit: chipboard pieces, small cork trees, and a white chipboard number. The “merry and bright” gold Thickers are from Crate Paper’s Merry Days collection as well.

For day 5, I used red glitters Thickers from American Crafts. The metal “Stay Cozy” ornament is from Ali Edwards (I think it was a Story Kit add-on a while ago โ€” it’s still available here). I used story cards from the main kit to journal about my dog Lando’s awesome llama Christmas sweater.

For day 7, I used another of Ali’s transparencies, along with a large cork “7” (this exact one isn’t available anymore but she has a similar set of large cork numbers here). I used the red glitter Thickers by American Crafts again, along with a 4×6 journal card, rubber hexagons, and chipboard stars from the main kit.

In the back of my album is a traveler’s notebook that I made with super cute patterned paper from Pebbles’ Cozy and Bright collection. I journaled throughout the month of December because I don’t work on my December Daily album in real time, so it’s super helpful if I’m working on it months (or in this case, years) later. I attached one of the plastic envelopes from a past Story Kit to the back of the album with red line tape to hold the envelope in place. It’s the perfect spot for my 2018 DD traveler’s notebook.

If you also have past December Daily albums to finish, I hope this post leaves you encouraged. Or, if this is your first year: make it work for you! Do whatever brings you joy! Go crazy or keep it simple (or, like me, do both โ€” ha!). Itโ€™s such an incredible project and I just love it so, so much.
