Hi, friend! How are you? 💛
Things around here are pretty good. I had a busy day, running errands and getting some stuff done around the house. Before I knew it, it was past my bedtime and I realized I hadn’t scheduled a Happy Mail Monday post for this week (face palm).
In the grand scheme of things, it’s obviously not a big deal — but external accountability and routine are really good motivators for me, so I wanted to write a quick post and invite you to send someone a note of encouragement this week. I think we all need it more than ever.
I was talking with a friend earlier today and we both feel that one of the hardest parts of this pandemic is not knowing when a lot of things will resume. For us, the new school year starts in just a couple of weeks — and so many regular joys of summer and “back to school” traditions aren’t in place (or aren’t playing out the way we anticipated).
We have to grieve the loss of the old “normal” so that we can try our best to embrace the new. It’s a lot, emotionally. And it’s hard. But there are still joys to be celebrated, still blessings to count.
So, if you have some people you’re thankful for — maybe drop them a line to let them know you appreciate them and why. Those words, along with all of the love you can figuratively fit in an envelope, will give them so much hope.
If you need some cute, sparkly handmade cards to send — feel free to visit my Etsy shop or DM me on Instagram. I’d be happy to send you some for free if you give me a shout out on your stories or in a post. I need all of the help I can get when it comes to getting the word out about my Etsy shop!
This past week, I went to Hobby Lobby to grab a few things and I got super inspired in their greeting card section by a Dayspring line of cards called The Struggle Bus (I feel like that should be 2020’s motto 😂). Anyway, I’m going to make some cards this week for the shop (and for Freebie Card Friday) that are inspired by that line because #reallife .
I also saw this sign that inspired me too — even though my handmade card business is small now, I have big plans for it to turn into something bigger over time.
Regardless of how many cards I make or give away or sell, I hope I leave you motivated to send more mail.
Sending you love and a big virtual hug! Have a good week! Stay safe, be well. 💛
